INTRODUCTION

School is the provider of all sorts of knowledge and effective learning environment. Schools being the second home, serves a number of purposes in a child`s life. From boosting their confidence to make them learn the importance of team work and socialisation, schools do it all.  Away from home, schools become the place for children to spend their maximum time. Kids are sent to school considering the fact that there is an experienced hand to guide them and also a safe environment promoting growth. We also accept the fact that infrastructure plays a budding hand in creating a favourable environment for a child`s growth. Education infrastructure includes suitable spaces to learn. A child spends his/her maximum time in school as a student.  The school infrastructure then becomes a major factor behind how a child sees the world as she/he grows up.

OBJECTIVES

  • To ensure success of the educational enterprise
  • To leads to the optimum utilization of existing resources by reducing wastage at every stage of educational planning.
  • To encourages initiatives of the individual teacher, which in turn to promote his insight into the needs and foresight about the developmental prospects of the school.
  • To create a school site that has both physical and psychological influence upon the school community, especially students.

DECSCRIPTION

The school, being the student`s residence during their formative period, should rouse in them a feeling of simplicity, smart, tidiness and artistic elegance. The school should create an environment that not only assures learning, but also plays special attention to the mental and physical well-being of the students. School`s infrastructure helps the learners to achieve their level best. We, the Little Flower family is providing its ultimate to the overall development of our students.

THE SCHOOL BUILDING

  • The building structure is too simple, artistic, safe and stable.
  • It is well protected by a compound wall.
  • School building is spacious and adequately distributed.
  • Corridors and stair-cases are wide enough to avoid congestion and permit free movement of inmates.
  • The building is provided with proper ventilation and lighting arrangements.
  • It meets the requirements of curricular and co-curricular activities.
  • Adequate drinking water facilities and sanitary arrangements are available.

THE CLASSROOM

The classrooms are the learning laboratories of a school. The suitability of a school building depends upon the suitability and functionality of the classrooms. The following are the considerations given by Little Flower family, while designing a classroom:

  • The shape of the classrooms is rectangular.
  • The classrooms are constructed in such a way to ensure adequate area, lighting , ventilation and easy entrance.
  • The rooms are large enough to accommodate 40 to 45 students
  • Rooms have adequate ventilation, both natural and artificial.
  • The windows are arranged laterally to avoid visual interference.
  • Blackboards are sufficiently big, handy and reachable to both the students and teachers.
  • Each classroomshave smart class facility with a smart board, projector, and computer.
  • The furniture in each classrooms are strong, non-jerky, non-noisy and durable. They are arranged in a proper order by giving sufficient spacing for free movement.

THE SCHOOL LIBRARY

Library is the hub of the intellectual life of a school. The knowledge searching activity in a school is ignited and powered from the library.

The following are the important consideration given by the management while organizing the school library:

Location: The school library is easily accessible to all classrooms, and remote from centres of noisy activities such as play grounds and leisure room.

Accommodation: The library hall is large enough to accommodate 10 to 15% of the school population, it has proper ventilation and lighted both naturally and electrically.

Furniture: It has sufficient number of shelves and racks, the reading room is furnished with adequate number of tables, chairs and display racks for newspapers and periodicals.

Librarian: The fulltime service of a fully qualified, experienced and committed librarian available in the library, who is assisting teachers, guiding students etc.

Books: Useful books appropriate to the age of students are available in the library, reference books, encyclopaedia, dictionaries, text books, hand books, books for general reading, journals, etc. are available in the library.

Library Records: Accession register, issue register, annual stock register are maintained in the school library.

SCHOOL LABORATORY

The importance of science learning in schools is escalating day by day. The effective learning of science is not possible without a laboratory. The features of Little Flower`sscience lab are;

  • It has two doors opening to same side and seven long windows on the other side.
  • Lab has a stock register
  • A student entry register is placed in the entrance
  • The room for practical’s are furnished with practical tables polished with marbles.
  • Four to six numbers of wall-fixed cupboards with glass-front.

EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES

Educational resources are the backbone of learning achievement. These resources are designed and developed by the teachers in a well-planned manner. The resources includes instructional materials like; worksheets, assessment exercises, use of teaching aids such as flash cards, charts, ICT skills, etc.

The use of smart class helps to convey the learning materials effectively. We have smart class facility in each classes, it makes the learning more effective and easy. Teachers are preparing smart class lesson plan, which is easy to handle and refer.

CONCLUSION

We, the Little Flower family provide the finest infrastructure facilities to its students. School buildings, classrooms, playgrounds and libraries are the most important aspect of school infrastructure. We have spacious and refurbished buildings and well- ventilated classrooms. The school site has got both physical and as well as psychological influence upon the school community, especially students. The school adopts and promotes eco-friendly practices, with the help of various clubs.
